Ancient City III (Phaselis)

Oceanfront Property

The main ruins of this Lycian city run through a small peninsula along the Mediterranean.  Along the main road are tributes to heroes, recognizable bathhouses, agora markets, and other public buildings.  It runs down to the water as you pass the theater. The chartered boats and 'Blue Cruises' drop anchor for a swim and a look around here - nice choice.  It's easy to see from this spot, where the Turquoise Coast gets its name.

This is the a shot of the 'cellar' in a bathhouse.  There would be coals/fire underneath to warm the marble or stone floors.

With the view from this ancient theater, I imagine the productions had to compete with mother nature.
